Starting in 1992, Artscape Nordland was an ambitious landscape art project in the Nordland county of Norway involving artists from 18 countries and situated in a gallery without walls or a ceiling and covering an area of 40000km˛.
For us, on our trip north and back, it provided some fascinating punctuation to our journey.
My personal favourite was this, Sieben Magische Punkte. (Seven Magic Points.) by Martti Aiha from Finland.
Made of iron, it sat in the landscape of Skanland like a miniature landscape in it’s self. It seemed to be a part of the place that belonged there as much as the sky or the sea..
