Llyn Peninsula.
26th 27th August 2013
I am becoming increasingly interested in the night sky.
I’ve always had an interest but as I travel to further shores I have had the opportunity to gaze up into darker skies than we tend to easily find in this country.
The Llyn Peninsula, jutting out into the Irish Sea seemed like a good possibility but even here the light from Aberdaron still managed to creep in along the bottom of the horizon.
This watch post at Carreg reminded me a little of a chimney pot sitting on top of a hill so knowing that the galactic plane would rise almost vertically on this night the potential for this shot amused me somewhat.
The stonework, foreground and sky to some extent was illuminated by the rising moon to my left.
