Lindisfarne
19th March 2011
After a few days of teaching a bunch of very enthusiastic kids about the Vikings in Edinburgh I needed a break on my journey home.
The weather forecast was good for Northumbria so the siren call of another classic landscape location was simply not to be ignored.
I normally shoot Lindisfarne Castle from the harbour side but with an unusually low tide predicted I decided to try a different viewpoint for a change to catch the morning light from the East.
Not perhaps my favourite angle of the keep but I did like the warm morning lighting on the cobble beach as the sun broke the horizon.
The Peggity huts on the right hand side are the National Trusts very tidy versions of a local custom that is more evident in the harbour.
